Northwest Airlines

Northwest Airlines began way back
in 1926 under the name Northwest
Airways, amidst the classic USairlines
that formed the airline industry in
the US. By 1933 the airline was flying
scheduled passenger services using
DC-3s. With the takeover of Northern
AirTransport in 1934 the airline
renamed itself as Northwest Airlines
and DC4s were shortly introduced
for long-haul polar flights to
Asia which began by 1947. Now
Northwest fleet consist of the
following aircraft types. A319,
A320, A330 DC10, DC9, 747 and 757.

Boeing 757

Northwest ordered 16 Boeing 757-300
in 2001. A total of 1049 757 were
built when the production ended
in 2005. The last delivery of this
aircraft type was in April 2005
to Shanghai Airlines.
